Why the term "Coaching"? Though today “coaching” is often used as a specific
technical term, for me “Christian Coaching” best describes my approach to the ministry
God has given me. It is my desire to come alongside individuals and/or local
congregations to assist them in their journey. The focus is the individual’s
relationship with God through Christ Jesus and their growth and development as
a person of God. As a coach my passionate desire is for a person or local
congregation to become all they can be in Christ Jesus. To this end I desire to
come alongside as a fellow traveler offering guidance, giving counsel,
presenting practical application, challenging people to live the holy life they
care called and created to live – all through solid biblical preaching and/or teaching.
Coaching also describes my attitude and approach to my preaching and teaching.
I offer what I have gleaned over the years in my journey with Jesus. My desire
and prayer is that I preach to people not at them. I strive to clearly articulate
God’s truth as reveled in His Word and communicate how that truth can be
applied to our lives. I do not offer pat simple answers, but the call to “work
out our salvation with fear and trembling” – that is with reverence, worship,
intention and intensity. As a coach I come alongside to assist and serve you in
your Journey with Jesus.
